2024 NG PRODUCTION FREEZE-OFFS UPDATE January 14, 2024
The 1-15-day weather forecasts for January 14th have gotten a little warmer compared to January 13th. Natural gas production freeze-offs as a result are revised lower from yesterday. Most of the revised lower production freeze-offs come from the Northeast and West Texas regions. Total Lower 48 natural gas production freeze-offs are now estimated to be 73.6 Bcf compared to 81.1 Bcf for yesterday. Actualized production freeze-offs are now occurring and so far to date, they are what we have been expecting. Today’s production freeze-offs are lower than expected at 4.1 Bcf/d. The Northeast and North Dakota are experiencing lower than expected production freeze-offs for January 14th.


The table below shows the actualized production freeze-offs by sub-region. Northeast and North Dakota production freeze-offs have been coming in lower than expected.

Crude oil production freeze-offs are unchanged from yesterday.
