2024 NG PRODUCTION FREEZE-OFFS UPDATE January 13, 2024
The 1-15-day weather forecasts for January 13th have gotten colder and for a bit longer duration compared to January 12th. Natural gas production freeze-offs as a result are revised higher from yesterday. Most of the revised higher production freeze-offs come from the Northeast. Total Lower 48 natural gas production freeze-offs are now estimated to be 81.1 Bcf compared to 58.1 Bcf for yesterday. Actualized production freeze-offs are now occurring and so far, they are what we have been expecting. Today’s production freeze-offs are higher than expected at 3.3 Bcf/d, but nominations for today are not complete and the actualized production freeze-offs will very likely be less than 3.3 Bcf/d.

The table below shows the actualized production freeze-offs by sub-region. Oklahoma production freeze-offs have been coming in higher than expected.

Crude oil production freeze-offs are unchanged from yesterday.
