2024 NG PRODUCTION FREEZE-OFFS UPDATE January 12, 2024
The 1-15-day weather forecasts for January 12th have gotten slightly warmer compared to January 11th. Natural gas production freeze-offs as a result are revised lower from yesterday. Most of the revised lower production freeze-offs are coming from the Northeast. West Texas and Haynesville natural gas production freeze-offs are revised slightly higher compared to January 11th. Total Lower 48 natural gas production freeze-offs are now estimated to be 58.1 Bcf for January-2024 compared to 75.5 Bcf for yesterday.

Crude oil production freeze-offs are now included in the SynMax production freeze-off report. For now, North Dakota is the only sub-region likely to experience significant crude oil production freeze-offs.
