The Permian Production Potential From Hugh Brinson & Blackcomb Pipelines
The Permian Basin is poised for a significant production inflection in Q4 2026 as Hugh Brinson Phase 1 (1.5 Bcf/d) and Blackcomb (2.5 Bcf/d) pipelines come online in October 2026, adding 4.0 Bcf/d of takeaway capacity. Hugh Brinson Phase 2 (0.7 Bcf/d compression expansion) follows in Q1 2027, bringing the total new capacity wave to 4.7 Bcf/d. Combined with the GCX Expansion (0.57 Bcf/d, online June 2026), the Permian gains 5.27 Bcf/d of new capacity across Q3 2026 – Q1 2027 — the largest expansion wave in basin history.
