Lower 48 Production Drop October 5, 2026

We are still in the midst of the fall maintenance season with a slew of force majeure and maintenance events causing production to be down from recent highs. Weakening fall demand and increasing storage injection ratchets for the fall season are still keeping Northeast production down from the peak summer highs. However, Northeast production should rebound significantly once Cove Point LNG comes back online either this week or next week and then should hit new highs for the year by December when winter demand returns.

Northeast

A force majeure on the TETCO Line 15 north of the Tompkinsville compressor station in Kentucky is negatively impacting north to south flows and Northeast production by at least 0.43 Bcf/d. Another force majeure in New York state on Tennessee Gas Pipeline is negatively affecting NE PA production. SW PA production is also down partly due to maintenance on Equitrans Jupiter.

Haynesville & Permian

Continued maintenance on the Gulf South pipeline is causing Haynesville production to be down by around 0.5 Bcf/d from recent highs. For the Permian, all indications are that the Blackcomb pipeline is still not operational and is at most flowing minimal commissioning volumes. SynMax daily production shows that Permian production remains resilient and near the highs for the year.
