We are excited to announce the release of the next major version of the Excel Add-in.

Hyperion clients can now leverage the full capabilities of API v4 with new intuitive filters and response columns.

Vulcan clients can now directly query all Vulcan datasets right from their Excel worksheet

Major Changes

  • Access to all Vulcan datasets from Excel.
  • Seamless query of Hyperion API v4 with new filters.
  • Improved formula builder performance for a smoother workflow.
  • End of Life for all older versions of Excel Add in.

     

    CRITICAL WARNING FOR HYPERION CLIENTS

    • This is a major new version and contains breaking changes for existing Hyperion queries.  Upgrading will most likely require changes to existing sheets.
    • The column names and response formats for Hyperion API queries have changed, and several new columns have been added.
    • Action Required: If you have existing Excel sheet integrations using a version earlier than 2, you must verify the new response formats in a separate worksheet first.

    Installation

    To get started with the latest version, download the installer directly from our documentation page: https://exceldocs.synmax.com/pages/install.html

    After installation, look for the SynMax Commodities Ribbon in Excel.

    Deprecation Notice: Previous Add-In Versions

    The previous version of our add-in (named SynMax Energy Excel Add-in) is not automatically removed during this installation.

    • Deprecated Status: This old version is now deprecated. We will address critical bugs, but no new features or functionality will be added going forward.
    • New Version Name: The new version is named the SynMax Commodities Excel Add-in.

    To remove the deprecated SynMax Energy Add-in:

    1. Go to Apps & features (or Control Panel) on your computer.
    2. Find and uninstall the item named "SynMax Energy Excel Add-in."

    End of Live for Versions < 2.0.0

    After March 1, 2026, previous versions of the SynMax Energy Excel Add-in will no longer be supported.
