We have completed an evaluation of solar, gas, and battery projects that have been finished since 2023-2024. We reviewed historical satellite images to identify the point at which Vulcan UC would have deemed the location under construction. This is crucial, as many discussions about construction timelines often include permitting and other legal factors. In this case, we are primarily focusing on the construction aspect, which is what Vulcan UC identifies for you.
Vulcan clients now have access to a table documenting the technology type and the shortest and longest timelines. We have differentiated between greenfield and brownfield gas plants, as they have significantly different timelines.
As we continue to track numerous projects, we will eventually build a database of images by technology and state, enabling us to create even more comprehensive construction timelines. We will also apply machine learning to predict project progress.
One of our upcoming projects is to identify the construction start dates for the 56 plants that we have confirmed are under construction. This will allow us to provide an accurate range for when these projects will be online.
