This week, we observed several activities across both Datacenter and Power projects, including the identification of land clearing for multiple sites. Land clearing significantly increases the likelihood of these projects reaching fruition, especially compared to those that do not advance to this stage.
Datacenter updates span across the country, with the largest being the McCarran Tahoe Reno Data Center (The Citadel Campus), a 130 MW facility in California. Additionally, two plants in Georgia had their land cleared, and we highlight one of them below.
Power project updates were geographically centered, rather than spanning across the U.S. The largest among these was the 455 MW Cumberland gas plant, for which land clearing was identified. The EIA still lists this plant in the planned stage. Below, we highlight the Castle Bluff Energy Center, a 216 MW natural gas facility in St. Louis County, MO. This plant is also listed as planned, but our observations clearly show land clearing has occurred.
All sited note with first structure continue to progress as planned. We are currently reviewing these sites against their status from four weeks ago. Should we identify any lack of progress, we will update their status to "postponed." All 127 initial structure projects are moving forward.
