New Activity

We are tracking one potential TIL job in progress in NE PA on a CHK wellpad. Wellpad 478923 which has followed an expected progression of drilling out plugs, installing on-site equipment and, as apparent in our latest SAR images, appears to have frac tanks onsite for flowback. Once we can confirm with our next set of images the presence of frac tanks (or not) we will make a final determination on status.

Why the TIL Project Matters?

A quick review. Our goals with this project are:

  1. To give customers accurate information on the quantity of dormant production in DTIL/NYT wells.

  2. To capture TILs before gas reaches pipeline meters, giving our customers a leading indicator of coming production.

  3. To build a scalable and reliable process for capturing this data on an ongoing basis as a new permanent feature of Hyperion. We believe this will be particularly useful for predicting NorthEast production where we believe DTILs are and have been a key to predicting near-term production swings.

How Widespread are DTILs Among Other Operators?

We have begun collecting data on all possible Haynesville - LA DTIL wells. While this data remains incomplete, of interest is the apparent lack of DTILs in our ~50% sample of possible DTIL wells so far investigated. The idea that other Haynesville operators are following CHKs lead is less likely than we previously thought. Among certain operators our sample is all but complete. Of 6 possible DTIL Comstock wellpads we have confirmed that all but one are flowing. We are awaiting status confirmation on two wellpads that were not accessible. Surprisingly, at least for me, it appears Comstock, one of the most important Haynesville - LA operators, may not be participating in delayed TIL games.
