Still No Sign of TIL Activity
The ambiguous activity observed on CHK wellpad 3180 turned out not to be related to TIL. Our private investigators have confirmed that neither well has been TILd. Interestingly, our investigators also observed that the two legacy wells on the same wellpad appear to be shut in. It is common practice for producers to shut in nearby wells while fracking, this is done to avoid communication between wells. What is noteworthy here is that the legacy wells have remained shut in even after the frack job was completed, exacerbating the TIL management impact on short term production.

With two more wells on wellpad 412674 currently being fracked, CHKs NYT inventory is set to hit 12 wells in the near future. NYT inventory gives CHK the optionality to finely control the path of production in the short term. Each Haynesville well is likely to produce 20k mmcf/d of initial production in its first month, making a NYT inventory of 12 the equivalent of 0.24bcf/d of production optionality.

CHKs Haynesville NYT Inventory over time.

CHK frack crews in the Haynesville average ~3.5 completions per month and CHK is currently running one crew, meaning every month CHKs NYT production optionality grows by 0.07bcf/d. We are working to expand our coverage to better understand the production optionality of the region should prices incentivize producers to draw down their NYT inventory.
