EQT Curtailing Production Once Again
EQT is once again curtailing production in Pennsylvania. The curtailments reemerged on August 7th. The amount that the company is curtailing is at least 500 MMcf/d, based on observing direct pipeline scrape production data that is labeled either EQT or Rice Energy. Rice Energy was bought out by EQT in 2017. Dominion South next day cash pricing had been priced near $1.25 / MMBtu on a regular basis. Lately, when Dominion South cash prices go below $1.25 / MMBtu, EQT will shut-in or curtail at least 500 MMcf/d. The company can curtail 500 MMcf/d with the click of a mouse, and they can bring the production back on with a click of a mouse.

When will EQT bring back their shut-in production?
Based on the current forward curve for fixed price Dominion South, the company should keep the production shut-in until November 2024 when prices go well above $1.25 / MMBtu. Stay tuned for the next update.
