Using the latest GFS Operational weather forecast going out to January 13th, 2025, there is the potential for natural gas production freeze-offs in North Dakota and in the Northeast and potentially Oklahoma on January 10th.
Overall, the total amount in natural gas production freeze-offs went up by 8.2 Bcf compared to Friday. However, today’s 12Z operational run came in warmer than the previous Euro operational 6Z run, so there is the potential for additional production freeze-offs. North Dakota freeze-offs would likely begin around January 1st. The Northeast region is likely to see natural gas production freeze-offs beginning around January 3rd. Total Lower 48 natural gas production freeze-offs are expected to peak around 4.4 Bcf/d around January 9th.
